Ozone UK at the Wavemasters

Last year we were on the West Coast of Ireland for the Wavemasters. This year it was Gwithian, in Cornwall. It was a one day affair with wind, sun and swell all forecast. As we woke up in the morning it looked like the forecast had materialised – perhaps not quite the right wind direction, and not the perfect swell – but it was good enough. Gwithian looked stunning as always!

The conditions were very challenging to start with – the cross off wind, with the high tide and cliffs made for some turbulent wind with plenty of lulls. As the tide dropped the wind cleaned up a bit. With only one day to run the whole competition there was no time to lose.

The REO has really made its mark in the UK waveriding scene, and there was a good number in the sky! Sukie chose to fly the Enduro V2 9m – smooth and predictable power delivery are what you need on a day like this! Lance was also riding the new Enduro V2 in a 12m. The day ran smoothly with the competition being completed by 5pm and everyone having dinner together at Sunset cafe – a great weekend!
