We loaded the van and headed out on the overnight ferry from Fishguard to Rosslare. We were headed to the West Coast of Ireland for the British Wavemasters event. This is Ozone International rider and big wave master Ryan Coote’s home spot. The place is stunning. You will never get over how beautiful it is over there. Ozone were out in force with UK riders Neal and Jess Gent also competing. We were also joined by the Ozone guys from the Barcelona office (Iain and Hannes) as well as the Spanish rep Fernando. Plenty of REOs in the sky.

The conditions were unusual for the area. Light easterly winds and small swell – but also sunshine and blue skies as opposed to grey and driving rain. We got a competition done eventually, and had a great week exploring the area and getting some SUP sessions in. we got some podiums between us with Ryan coming 2nd in the Pro men, Jess coming 1st in the women’s, Fernando coming 2nd in the Seniors and myself 2nd in the Ams. We cannot wait for next year!
