The Access is Ozone’s entry level kite that has been designed to make the learning process of Snowkiting as safe and easy as possible.
The design goal of this kite is to allow total new comers to enjoy this sport on their very first session. We have made this possible by creating an incredibly stable kite which has a constant pull and a large wind range. If you are new to the sport or if you are an occasional snowkiter then the Access is the kite that you need to learn the basics of Snowkiting and progress to find out what this incredible sport can offer.
The Access has a full Flag-out safety system which allows a beginner to land the kite easily in case of an uncontrolled situation. We still recommend that you land the kite using the webbing brake handle to cleanly stall the kite if conditions permit i.e. when taking a break or finished for the day. This has helped to make the Access a great teaching tool and has become the kite of choice for top snowkite schools across the globe.
The 2014 Access has been redesigned from the ground up, it has a newly developed profile, progressive arc and optimised planform. The latest design of this already classic kite has more stability even at low angles of attack due to a specifically created profile. The progressive arc means that the kite is rock solid in the air but still has a quick turning speed and responsive bar feeling. The low aspect planform ensures that this kite will work in the gustiest of conditions but still delivers constant power and progressive pull.
Even though the Access was originally developed for teaching and entry level riders it has become a firm favorite for experienced riders who require ultra stability in turbulent high mountain conditions. Most of our International team riders keep a 4m or a 6m in their quiver and would not be caught without it for those trips to the mountains. The Access has been a favorite for expeditions where it is essential to have safe and easy to use kites in extreme conditions.

Control System
The Contact-Snow Control System offers the latest in safety features, a clean control bar design and a simple easy-to-use trimming system.
Push Away Quick Release – The control system features a new Megatron pushaway quick release safety with total flag out of the kite. The release handle is ergonomic with positive release forces (under 8kg) allowing for quick and easy release. Simple re-assembly saves time and gets you back up and riding faster.
Three Safety Modes – The new Contact-Snow Control System offers riders a choice of three safety modes; the recommended Flag Out safety, or the optional Brake Handle or Suicide safety modes.
NOTE: When teaching/practicing release and reload of the chickenloop, we recommend doing so in light winds with the leash attached to the Brake Handle.
• The recommended Flag Out safety offers 100{e70e112c655e3a0d3143c3e1d4fb9fcb502fe7741cde5e0a3c456cf8b769894e} flag out in all situations by releasing the Megatron or letting go of the bar when un-hooked.
• The Brake Handle safety method attaches the safety leash to the hand brake line that connects to the back leaders, when Megatron is released the kite stalls down to the ground.
• The Suicide option offers 100{e70e112c655e3a0d3143c3e1d4fb9fcb502fe7741cde5e0a3c456cf8b769894e} flag out only when the Megatron is released whilst hooked in, allowing riders practicing handle passes to let go of the bar with out flagging the kites safety (not recommended).
Anti-twist 100{e70e112c655e3a0d3143c3e1d4fb9fcb502fe7741cde5e0a3c456cf8b769894e} Flag Out Line – The flag out line running through the Megatron & safety leash attachment at the bottom keeps the leash tangle free when doing rotations and manually unwinding the centre lines using the Spinning Handle.
Low Friction Centre Piece – The new control bar features a low friction aluminum centre piece designed to reduce trim line wear.
Auto Positioning Chicken Loop – Designed in conjunction with the bar centre piece, the Megatron spinning handle allows chicken loop auto positioning, offering easy unhooked riding and hooking back in.
Magnetic trim handle system – The Magnetic trim handle connects to a magnetic neoprene sock covering the clam cleat to reduce tangles when the trimmer is depowered.
PU Covered trim line & Ronstan Orbit Pulley – The tough PU covered trim significantly reduces wear when sheeting in and out, whilst the smooth running Ronstan Orbit Pulley also prevents trim line wear.
The Contact-Snow Control System bar sizes come in 45cm, 50cm and 55cm. The larger size PU chicken loop (sold separately) is perfect for riders with longer arms or for riders wanting even easier hooking in & out.
